Office Depot Worklife Program Gives Rewards For Recycling Printer Ink & Toner Cartridges

Recycling printer cartridges not only helps the environment, it can also get you rewards from Office Depot. Office Depot has added recycling printer cartridges to it's Worklife Rewards program. The Worklife Rewards program rewards a certain percentage of certain purchases back to Office Depot customers. Now, customers can get $2 in Worklife Rewards for each printer cartridge up to 10 per month, that they bring into Office Depot for recycling. Customers may turn in more than 10 printer cartridges per month, but they will receive credit and rewards for no more than 10 per month.

The amount of rewards given back also is determined by the amount of qualified purchases a Worklife Rewards member has. Your recycling rewards can not exceed the amount spent on qualified Office Depot purchases. In simple terms, you must make purchases of at least the same amount as your recycle rewards. For example, if you turn in 10 printer cartridges, you must spend at least a total of $20 in qualified store purchases (10 x $2 = $20). Typically, a qualified purchase is any purchase not paid for by any type of gift card, store purchase card, or a previously earned Worklife Reward card. Qualified purchases exclude any taxes, fees, discounts, etc. Your credited recycles expire at the end of each quarter so you must use them and make qualified matching purchases by the end of the quarter or you will lose them.

As with other printer cartridge recycling programs, there are several specific terms and conditions governing how the program is operated. It's always a good idea to get familiar with all terms and conditions before submitting your printer cartridges for recycling. If terms are not met, you may not get your cartridges back and you may not get any rewards either. Read the fine print.

1. First of all you must sign up for the Office Depot Worklife Rewards program. You can sign up at your local Office Depot store, on their website (myworkliferewards.com), or by calling their toll free customer service line.
2. After you have signed up with the Worklife Rewards program, you can take your empty printer cartridges to an Office Depot store to turn them in. All company brands of printer ink and toner cartridges are accepted for recycling.
3. The Office Depot store associate will view your printer cartridges for any visible damage. Then they will ring up the transaction. Be sure they ring it up with your Worklife Rewards member number. It's important to get and hold on to your receipt and check that your membership number was printed on the receipt in the transaction.
4. Your recycled cartridges will post to your account within 2 business days. However, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for recycling credits to be processed and converted to $2 for each cartridge. (provided you have made qualified purchases for the quarter. You must make matching qualified purchases in the same quarter that you turn in recycle cartridges.).

At the end of every quarter (every three months), Office Depot will look at your total Worklife Rewards accumulated during the quarter. ** If your balance is at least $10, you will automatically be sent a reward card in the regular mail (beginning April 2011 rewards will be available online).

The Worklife Rewards card will have the total amount of rewards on the card. The card will have a three month expiration date printed on the back of the card. You must use it before the expiration date. The balance will go to zero when the card expires. Expired cards will not be reissued. You can use your reward card at any Office Depot store. Or you can order on the Office Depot website or call in and order over the telephone.

If your rewards balance is less than the $10 minimum at the end of the quarter, then you will lose your reward. Effective July 1, 2011, rewards earned totaling less than $10 at the end of the quarter will no longer roll into the following quarter.They will not be rewarded.

You can purchase merchandise sold in Office Depot stores, it's website or catalogs with your earned rewards card.

You can not use earned rewards card to buy gift cards, prepaid telephone cards, or store services. Nor can the rewards card be used to pay on credit accounts, etc.
